The Queensland growing region of Bowen has finished for vegetables. The cold and wet weather in our next major growing region Victoria has affected supply resulting in many shortages in vegetables and Leaf lines.
Lines majorly affected are Tomatoes, Broccolini, Cauliflower, Capsicums, Eggplant and Leaf lines such as Baby Spinach and Rocket.

Bowen vegetable growing region is finishing for the season, and we will start to head down the East coast and pull from southeast QLD and Victoria. This will affect the supply of some vegetables in the short term until the new growing regions ramp up.

The torrential rain and flooding along the Eastern Seaboard have temporarily prevented some growers from getting tractors into the fields to harvest. There is no major effect on supply at this stage due to us pulling stock from many growing regions at this time of year.

The new season of Aussie Asparagus is now in full swing. They are excellent value and are expected to stay that way for 2-3 months. Plenty of different grades and sizes are available: Thick, thin & loose. White Asparagus and Purple are available.

Small numbers of White Strawberries have now started.
The quality is excellent but very pricey. The grower is demanding a sale price this year of $25 a punnet.

Many vegetable lines continue to improve in supply and are of good value. These include Cauliflower Blossom (Fioretto), Broccoli, Broccolini, Green Capsicums, Sweet Corn and Zucchini. Tomato lines are still holding their prices for now.
