Aussie season Asparagus has finished, and we are sourcing imported stock, which is much more expensive. Asparagus, Avocados and Lemons are the 3 main lines which are currently short in supply.
Avocados and Lemons are in between seasons, and we are waiting for Queensland growing regions to gear up in the coming 3-4 weeks, and prices will ease. Most other veg and fruit lines are good quality and of great value.

The supply of Vegetables is good, and prices are fair, with many significant value options available now, which is an excellent change from the tough Winter and Spring we went through. All the fruit is of good value and excellent quality, especially the stone fruit.
As happens every year, the local Lemon season has finished resulting in a lower supply and higher pricing. However, Limes have increased in supply, and prices have fallen and will continue to fall as the season progresses.

We have now switched to VIC and SA growing regions for most products. Supply is short for some major lines, including Broccoli, Broccolini, Capsicums, Eggplant, Baby Spinach and Rocket. We’re expecting supply to improve in the New Year.

Lines majorly affected are Tomatoes, Broccolini, Cauliflower, Capsicums, Eggplant and Leaf lines such as Baby Spinach and Rocket.

Bowen vegetable growing region is finishing for the season, and we will start to head down the East coast and pull from southeast QLD and Victoria. This will affect the supply of some vegetables in the short term until the new growing regions ramp up.

ISSUE 146 "FRESH IS BEST"
The torrential rain and flooding along the Eastern Seaboard have temporarily prevented some growers from getting tractors into the fields to harvest. There is no major effect on supply at this stage due to us pulling stock from many growing regions at this time of year.
